Sunday’s With ScootyDub (The 23rd ed.)

Happy Sunday!

I hope you’re not in a hurry, wherever you are. Take a moment and breathe it in. Thanks for stopping by.

March was an inspired month. I started listening to the right teachers at the right time. That helped me double down on the thing(s) I don’t need extra motivation to do.

This month, it’s been writing. I’m working to be more professional in my writing approach while simultaneously aiming to be more loosey-goosey in my judgement of it. I don’t want to be too delicate with it.

So, I’m experimenting with different writing formats, intending to test ideas instead of getting lost in them.

The three things I’ve learned through the process so far:

  • Nothing you create will end up as you expected. That’s what makes it unique.
  • Freedom comes through constraints, knowing what not to do.
  • Once you’re in motion, it’s much easier to keep going.

The better you understand the problem, the better you process it, and the more viable the solution becomes.

March Milestones:

🚢 I finished one online writing course and signed up for another, set to start next week. It’s called Ship 30 For 30. The challenge is to publish 30 pieces of written content in 30 days. Just the act of investing in the course has pushed me into motion. What I’m most looking forward to is the community and accountability aspects of the course. Learning more about the nuts and bolts of digital writing will be useful, but doing it alongside people inspired by the same pursuit will be invaluable.

™️ In the name of taking my own medicine, I paid $53 to officially register a business name. ScootyDub Content Co. is a small but significant step in legitimizing what I have to offer. It’s a tiny little action to move me further along the path.

🖊️ I published two long(er)-form pieces this month. It had been too long since I’d spent this long thinking about something.

Three Valuable Things To Share 🌎

📹 VIDEO: The Funny Thing About AI Taking Over the World…
Artificial Intelligence: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (Youtube)

John Oliver beautifully unpacks the rise of Artificial Intelligence and its implications, both good and bad.

He explains how AI is already impacting our lives with things like self-driving cars and hiring procedures. As AI continues to advance, it will be increasingly integrated into major systems. While this could enable advances like improved healthcare, it also introduces risks like biased or incomprehensible algorithms.

Johnnyboy emphasizes that we must address these challenges through laws and oversight to ensure AI’s risks are minimized and benefits maximized.

It made me laugh, and it added a few extra brush strokes to the story of AI I’ve soaked in so far.

🖊️ NEWSLETTER: Tomorrow’s AI, Today—News, Tools, & More
Ben’s Bites

Ben’s Bites will keep you at the forefront of AI. In 5 minutes or less, he gives the latest AI news, tools, and companies delivered with a touch of humour and emojis 😉.

The value of Ben’s curated selection of tools alone makes this a must-read. Then you add on all the other tidbits he delivers, and it’s always worth at least a skim.

I don’t know shoot about frig, but I do believe things are changing at an incredible rate. And if someone like me can see it, it’s probably happening faster than we imagine.

Things that seemed far away not so long ago might not be so far away after all.

🤖 AI CHATBOT: Get Help With Just About Everything
Poe.com / Poe for iOS

Poe is an AI assistant that can help you with just about everything. From recipes to getting started on a retirement plan, start broad and dig deeper. Poe gets smarter over time, offering more specific solutions to your problems.

Best of all, it has different chatbots built in. You can ask the same question to multiple chatbots and see which suits you best.

I’ve found Sage the best for more straightforward prompts and Claude for more specific queries.

I changed my mind. The absolute best part is the follow-up suggestions it offers after providing answers. It gives you so many directions to explore.

If you enjoyed the newsletter, do me a favour and share it with one person.

I haven’t figured out how to do one of those auto-share buttons, so you’ll need to copy and paste, like we used to before phones got so smart. You can Tweet it using this, though.

Until next time, remember to live and let go,

Scotty
