Sunday’s With ScootyDub (Mar 28, 2021)

Hello there!

Welcome to my first newsletter. It’s a work in progress and will surely change and evolve from what you see here. Thank you kindly for choosing to follow along. I appreciate your attention—the most valuable commodity you have.

🖋️  Earlier this week, I posted a blog titled “On Fear” explaining why I made the website and started this newsletter.

📖  I also posted book notes on Atomic Habits by James Clear. A book I would 100% recommend to anyone trying to foster better habits or remedy bad ones. This is one of the most impactful books I’ve read in recent years.

I. Video
Nathaniel Drew’s weekly/monthly review bullet journal.

I don’t follow the same journalling practice outlined in this video, but my practice does have similar aspects. My biggest takeaway from this video is the inclusion of a “WHY?” column to go along with your daily to-do list. I’ve been testing it out this month and it is yielding positive results. I’ve also made it a priority to do a weekly review every Monday morning because of this video.

II. Short Blog
The most important blog post … is yours. by Seth Godin. (30 second read)

This short post hit me at the right time. You’re reading this now because of it.

III. Podcast
The Tim Ferris Show ep: 501 with Steven Pressfield.

A fantastic conversation between two of my favourite authors. They talk process and tools of the writing trade. They go into Pressfield’s idea of Resistance and how it presents whenever a person undertakes a creative project that matters to them. Lots of good tidbits about persistence and creating your own luck.

Quote To Consider

“People generally have more control over their actions than their feelings. But we can influence our feelings by taking action. Take one small step. Move the body first and the mind will follow.”
